Top 12 Households for Tap Water in Singapore

We drank and ranked household tap water by drinking from 12 different regions in Singapore.

In Singapore, we are lucky to have water that is safe to drink directly from the tap. But most of us can tell the difference about taste, how it feels in the mouth, the chlorine taste, the metal or rusty taste in our homes...

As you may have expected, different regions have different tasting tap water. So today we did a taste test to find out which area has the best and worst tasting water!

Note: Singapore's water is safe to drink and please don't take this ranking too seriously!

We had our team from all over Singapore bring their tap water together and 2 of us became the judge. We did the blind tasting.

So let's begin the ranking... From last to first place.

12. Yishun

Erm.. Yishun got the last place in our tap water taste test. The chlorine and metal taste is very strong once it was poured out of the bottle. "It taste like someone farted in the water before putting it in the bottle"

11. Woodlands

Woodlands' tap water also tasted like metal, but there was less chlorine taste. It didn't taste like a crowded swimming pool full of people and kids with small bladder. "It tastes like water from many years back.."

10. Choa Chu Kang

Choa Chu Kang also had metal tasting water and it looked kinda white, milky and sticky. I hope it's natural minerals... Anyway it was more drinkable than the previous two!

9. Ang Mo Kio

Surprisingly, Ang Mo Kio's water had no metal taste, but it does taste like chlorine, which is used to keep the water clean but it affects the pure taste of water. And the chlorine taste remains even after boiling. "It tastes like swimming pool with fewer people."

8. Bukit Timah

I would expect Bukit Timah's water to be as atas as the people think they are. But no, Bukit Timah's water is just as meh as the rest. Chlorine and rusty taste.

7. Tampines

Tampines' water is a little special... It still has chlorine taste but also feels a little processed like NEWater. A kind of fake pureness taste. But it's not too bad!

6. Seng Kang

Seng Kang's water taste like plastic but interestingly, it's not too bad. Maybe it's because there is nothing much going on there. So the water is less polluted.

5. Jurong

What a surprise to know that Jurong is one of the top in this taste test. I would expect Jurong's water to come out in black from the many factories around there. But interestingly, the water taste pretty decent. In fact, there is quite little metal taste.

4. Punggol

Punggol's water is not bad at all! one person commented it tasted like paper. But other than that, it taste really good and clean!

3. Clementi

Clementi's water taste very neutral. It taste like nothing. It's kind of boring, just like Clementi? But nothing and boring is just what I like my water to taste like. If my water taste interesting, it's usually not a good sign. Nice water!

2. Pasir Ris

The Pasirians seem to have one of the best tasting water. Some commented it taste like mineral water from the bottle.. but the cheap kind. Well that's not too bad for tap water. We'll take it!

1. Bedok

Seems like the east-siders have the best tasting water. Congrats to Bedok for having the best tasting water. Bedok's water taste very pure, just like water from the mountain. Pure and premium tasting!
